Life lesson in grade 8

Working hard in grade 8 is a very important. You need to work hard to pass the grade your in, you cant do it while doing a half asked job. Working hard includes the following: you need to study for tests and quizzes, if not unless your really gifted or you pay attention in class really well and have a photographic memory, you will probably fail or get a low mark. Working hard also includes paying attention in class, its super important to stay awake or not daydream and just pay attention for the 10 minutes he/she talks. Procratinating is good but not if you push it to the very limit, if you get youtr work done right away you will definatly not regret it, it is very boring but once your finished you can go do whatever you want!

Personally I work hard everyday and try to make everyday like its my last, definatly not just school, sports is another top one to work hard at, especially if you want to go to the majors for it, music is another one work hard a never give up no matter how bad you are at it. School and sports work together sometimes though, if your playing a sport usually how it works is that if your doing bad in school you wont play in university, college etc. Making A's in school, a very hard task, if you think about it even the gifted kids have to somewhat work at it to get straight A's its definatly not a given, but its definatly not impossible you just really need to study 20 minutes per night and it really works! I went from a low B to about a 90% in english which didnt suprise me everything got so much easier and I think I got an A on almost every test this term which is an amazing thing because I am very far from a straight A student.

When I was in grade 7 alot of my grade 8 friends told me how hard grade 8 was but once I got into grade 8 it almost was as easy as grade 7, which I thought was good. Things have changed so much since grade 7 though, everybody has gotten more into drugs and other bad things which is a little dissapointing I guess, but defianatly not the end. Hard working quotes are very helpful in life, they show you that almost everything is possible if you believe it and it gives you really good advice. My favourite quote is "Theres no celing on effort" meaning theres no limit on effort and hard work which is thought was a very good quote to live by. I enjoyed grade 8 though, it really isnt to easy but it isnt to hard either. You dont just fly by it, it takes work like everything does. Things like school teams are good to go on, dont feel like you have to miss out on fun activities such as those to study or do homework, im not saying you shouldnt do that but as long as you get it finished it really doesnt matter. Hard work includes listening to everything your teachers say to, it could be very boring but it helps because usually its quite intelligent.

Think about it working hard in life early will help you out when your older like getting into a good college, or university which will get you a good job when your older so basicly it all works out for the best.

Skate park

Westbank really needs a good skatepark. One reason is that there really isnt anything to do. Im not trying to sound greedy since we already have one which is called Johnson bentley skate park, but there arnt any good features to ours. We need something like Ben lee in rutland, which has a large bowl for bikers to shred, and they have an area for skaters to shred. Johnson Bently has a small hip/quarterpipe for bikers, 2 small boxes and a rail/4 set for skaters. Im a biker so I mostly ride the hip/quarterpipe which isnt actually that bad so maybe they could just add more features to it.

Another thing about it is its way to small, especially for a town our size. My grandparents old town of 10000 people had a much better skate park then our town of 40000 people which I thought was a little brutal. Although ours was built a long time ago, and Humboldts was built like under a year ago, so instead of building a whole new park maybe just add on. Or wipe out the whole thing a completely re do it. Im sure I could get alot of poeple on my side. Apparantly they were supposed to make a skate park in peachland, but it all the money raised went to a old person home or something which is a little dissapointing, but its for a good cause I guess.

So maybe a good skate park would be good for West kelowna, it would definatly attract more people to come here to see our park.

Center of gravity

It was the August long weekend, which meant the Center of gravity. The Center of gravity is the best part of summer, freestyle mountain biking, wakeboarding, beer garden, street ball, live bands, great food, beach, activities and bouncy castles etc. for kids. Best of all, girls in bikinis playing beach volleyball. Remember the Wake fest? well after the Wake fest was shut down they started doing the Center of gravity which is pretty much like the Wake fest with a twist.

Although there are some down sides to this event. There are many people that sneek in drugs and alcohol under age. Another one is getting sun burnt when laying on the beach and forget to put on sun block, or maybe if your all dry and little kids decide it would be funny to throw water on you. There could be some wierd people, or maybe even old fat man in speedo's which would not be a good sight to see. Aside from these its tons of fun.

So, as you can see the Center of gravity isnt just positive, but the positive definatly outweigh the negative parts of the event. All this happens at City park in Kelowna bc. Hopefully you can make it out for this fantastic event during the August long weekend, it is definatly one part of the year you dont want to miss! See you there! :)

The harp

One day a man was walking through town to pick up a newspaper. When I got home I sat in my favourite chair and read. Top headline read: Magic harp supposably lost, large reward if found. I thought to my self oh my god if found that I would be rich! So I set out next morning. I heard stories about it was in the peppercane forest, about 100 miles west from where I live. I searched and search the east side of the forest, no luck.

I started on the westside still no luck. Years and years went by and most people gave up on finding it but I never gave up. After a long day of searching I decided to go get a good nights rest then start again in the morning. That night a had a dream of where the harp is, I thought thats boulderdash, it couldnt be behind the big rock that I sit on every morning to finish my coffee. I went there and digged for 10 minutes or so, and what do you know? I found a brownish gold piece sticking out of the top of the ground,it had been burried.

It took me a little while to finish digging it up and clean it off but my was it beautiful. I tried it out a bit and wished for a wife, out came a gorgeous blonde model, yes. I noticed on the side of it said 54. It must have meant how many wishes it had left, I wished for a few more great things which included a multi million dollar house with a maid and a limo with a driver, life was sweet. I rushed into town in my new sports car, and showed all my friends. Everyone was offering millions for it but I declined every one. I had an amazing life because of that fantastic harp that made my life awesome.

Quickly, Braden jumped out of bed. It was the first day of summer vacation. I was going to go biking to the elementary school. There were some trails around and behind the school so I would make all the elementary kids that were still in school jealous. I was still in shock it was summer already, this is insanity I thought.



Of course all the kids were all mad that we were out and they wernt but they were still excited because they would get out in a few days. I was done with biking and ready to go home to play some road hockey before I went to the beach. I went downstairs because my mom wasnt ready to drive me yet, I decided to go pwn some noobs in Modern Warfare 2. I was so happy it was summer, that's the one day of the year every kid is waiting. I went back upstairs to grab some money before I left for Swim bay.

Swim bay is intense, it has a zipline, low dive and a high dive. I dominate the highdive, I can do backflips,frontflip dives, ganers and many more! I can tell this was going to be a supercallifragilisticexbealadocious summer.

New school

Beep, beep, beep,as my alarm went off I realized it was September 4th, first day at school. I was dreading this day all summer long. Well, it was bound to happen it was my grade 7 year and I would be in middle school. I was sorta freaked out because it looked so much bigger and scarier compared to my elementary school Rosevalley elm. My older friends from hockey had told my friends and I that there were alot of bad people, but they were just tring to freak us out. As I got to school with a few of my buddies we just kinda looked around. Everyone looked tired and a little mad because it was school again.

The bell rang and everyone scurried off to class, all the grade sevens had been invited to a welcome assembly, which made me feel a little better about being at middle school. It was just a half day today just to get all settled in. I was in Mrs. Cescons homeroom class with a couple of my good friends and alot of people I knew which was good. Until 2 days later in my art block the principle came in and took me and my friends, he said that are class was to crowded so he was going to put us in a class made up of kids that were taken out of there class too.

I was extremely mad, I liked the class I was in and I was getting to know all the people in it to. Well, it didnt help my matter much. So I was starting again, in a new class with new people. The new teahcers name was Ms. Youngberg and was she ever young she looked like she just turned 20, but she was a nice teacher. When we first entered the class everyone was talking loud or doing something stupid, like these two kids were eating paper and a couple others were drawing some wierd stuff. I thought I would never like this class but it turned out to definatly be one of the best years so far.

We had some good times in that class and in gym class we would play dodgeball or we could play whatever we wanted because Ms. Youngberg didnt really care what we did in gym. We also went on alot of really cool field trips like the Crepe factory and we went to H20 recreation center and we did alot more little fun activities like go on hikes on the mountains by Constable Neil Bruce school, we went on walks done to Petro canada gas station for a slushie when it was really hot out or we were doing well in class and what not.

To anyone going to middle school next year I recomend a few things. First, always be yourself people dont think your cool if you act like somebody your ckearly not. Two, you gotta stay cool be all chill around everyone and dont act wierd or snything like that. Lastly, stay positive, you need to stay posivtive and be confident if not your not going to have very good luck.

April fools prank

April first, the most practical important day of the year. Besides Christmas of course. I had it all planned out I was going to tp the school and turn the inside into a jungle. It would be hard but as long as Spencer and Tristan could help me I would be fine. 1:34 am we snuck out and had all the toilet paper and suplies we would use to jungle the school.

2:07 we arrive at CNB middle school, Tristan and Spencer would start tp'ing the school while I turned the inside into a jungle. Tristan even brought his pet chimpanzee Rocket power for the suprise. It was around 3:45 when I was about half done all I needed was a few classrooms on the second floor and the rest of the third floor, Tristan and Spencer were almost done tp'ing the school.

I had palced all the camera's around the school and Jeff coleman activated them so we could watch what happens through my I-pod. The school was pretty much done, this was the best April fools joke of all time, we were totally going to become famous after we show all of GMS the video. 6:36 am we arrive back at our houses where we pretend to be asleep. We all met back up at 7:30 to see some of the teacher reactions , the principal was going mad it was helarious! all the kid's thought it was cool, until Rocket power peed on one kid's head but that made it way funnier.

We showed all of GMS and our principal presented us with a medal which read on it, "To the brave kid's who made the greatest practical joke thats ever happened to CNB". Then we put it on youtube and got almost 100 million hits. After that everyone bowed down to us and Jeff Coleman became Rocket Power's slave for the rest of his life.

The most important game of my life

Call of duty Modern Warfare 2: So I was out of ammo, so I took out the sniper with my hand gun, then I went into the convience store took out the two guys there, disingaged there turret picked up DOUBLE SHOTTIES, went into the embacy took out the three guys there called in my airstrike and I killed like 6 of them it was nuts! I totally got promoted after that. Anyway's I was 12-0 going for my nuke, I had my chopper gunner ready to go, but I had to find a brilliant spot where nobody would kill me. So I hid in some bushes. I was now up in my huge chopper gunner destroying every enemy in sight. Someone launched a rocket to try to destroy the chopper but it just missed. I got a multi kill right off the bat, which gave me 16 kills 0 deaths. I kept destroying everybody. When my time was up immediatly after I got up somebody came up behind me and knifed me. 24-1 almost had the nuke at 25-0 but no I had to be killed. I was devastated but I just tried again. I went back to the enemy respawn spot, threw a semtex grenade got a triple kill which pumped me up for the next 6 kills. I called in my airstrike, and got a double kill which got me my second chopper gunner of the game. With only 4 minutes and 27 seconds to go in the match, I sadly only got 7 kill's with my chopper gunner with got me up to 18 kills 7 away from the nuke to end the match. I went to where most of the enemy's were chillen with there claymores set up so they could snipe, I let a fellow teammate go ahead to stupidly run into the claymore, which gave me a open chance for victory. There were 4 enemys camping inside the building so I sneakily killed the first guy which aloud me to destroy the next 3 because they were laying down sniping. I had a feeling that they would be returning to kill me, I was at 22 kills 3 away from the nuke, with only 1 minute and 12 seconds left a guy walked up the stairs trying to be stealth but I headshotted him with got me two kills away. I once again picked up double shotties, went down stairs and obliviated to more guys. I HAD THE NUKE!, I quickly set it off, 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, BOOM, game over final score 49 kills 1 death.

Scaredy student #2

Eugene's my name, and I am terrified of spiders. YES, spiders no matter the size of it im frightened to the point where I have nightmares everynight and have to crawl into my parents bed with them, Im 19 years old. It all started when I was 6 year's old visiting a zoo in california. I loved spider's, and thought they were so cool, so there was a tarantula at the zoo and I wanted nothing more than to pet it. Im sure you know what happen's next, He bit me and I was in the E.R for the night. My parents sued the zoo for everything they had, and we became millionairs. Anyways we have a huge spider web and a giant wolf spider right in the corner of our garage. Im way to scared to go in there so I have to get my 5 year old sister to get anything I need from the garage.

I went into my room and there it was on my ceiling! It was 1am I couldnt wake my parents, they would be so mad. So I did what I had to do and went and got the broom but when I got there I was to scared. I sat there for an hour atleast watching it's every move. Suddenly I didn't see it anymore, I started to get really paranoid and I then saw it right on my shoulder, this was the scariest moment of my life. I ripped of my shirt and smashed the spider multiple times with the broom. He was dead but his leg's were still moving so I finished him off.

He was finally dead after 9 years of that spider being alive hes finally dead. I was so excited that I woke up my parents. I was so thrilled until 2 days later I found out that spider had babies not just 1 or 2 but 13. It was to bad for them that I got over that fear. I am 19 year's old and not afraid of spiders.

My dream spring break

There are alot of things to do this spring break, heres a few of them. My number one thing I would want to do is go to Florida to go to Disney World because it is probably my most favourite place in the world, I love disney world because there is so much to do there. Where do I begin? well the rides there are thrilling! my favourite ride there is probably Space Mountain or the Kraken in Animal Kingdom which is part of Disney World. There both intense roller coaster's but by a mile kraken is scarier. But before all that it would be cool to rent a lamborghini to go places in.

Next is the food, for a snack definatly the cheero, but for a meal fried mickey mouse (kinda like fries). The fun little nick-nacks to buy there are next, the toy shop's are crazy they have everything! from jack in the box to mickey mouse ears. Next is the event's that go on, like the fireworks or when all the disney characters come and you can take pictures with them and stuff. After all that you can have breakfast with the characters in the morning, lunch with them in the afternoon, and then you can eat dinner with them at night.

Another thing they have there are really high tech machines. In down-town disney you can go and make your own roller coaster and make it how scary you want and rate it out of five for scariness. Then you get in line and you get to ride it!. I thought that this was the coolest thing that was there because of how high tech it was. In there you could also play video games, go on the computer but why would you go there when there are so many better things to do!

Then you have to go to planet hollywood. It's a sick restaurant!, they have old famous posters worth alot of money from old actors and they have a built robot of arnold shwartzaneggars terminator. Plus the food there was so good. All in all if I could go to any of the part's of Disney World, I would go to MGM Studios because of the stuff they had such as 3D movies, good restaurants, fun rides, and when we were there, there was a live indiana jones performance. Thing's at Disney World are just so much funner when you get to buy stuff, so my another thing that would be amazing on your trip would be $750'000 to go to the mall there or to buy whatever you want. With my share I would probably buy alot of ps3 games and clothes and accesories. Then on our way home we would probably take a private jet from some of the left over money we had.

Flump(y)

I have decided to make up a new word to use instead of bad,ugly,or not fun. The word is Flump you can also say flumpy. Ever heard anyone say flump or flumpy? probably not. Flumpy mean's that something isnt fun, or bad,foolish or even if somethings ugly you can say flump instead. You can use flump in sentences such as, your looking flumpy today, that's so flumpy, having a flumpy day? or that's just flump ya'll.

The word flump comes from the word bad which comes from the word horrible. My goal with this word is for it to get into the newest dictionary. My second goal is before that happen's is to get atleast a few hundred people to use the word flump. The down part about it is somebody could use it and say that they created it and get all the credit while you say you did and everyone thinks your a liar but not the other person. Another down part is after trying so hard to create this word nobody uses it, which would definatly be a bummer.

I think with alot of hard work I could make this a world wide used word. To start I could use it around school, then use it around my neighborhood and on Call of Duty 6 of course, and then post it on a instant messenger website like Facebook or MSN. Still thinking flump is stupid? when your wanting to tell your sibling they look bad or not good and you don't want to get in trouble, instead of that you could use flump so they dont know what your saying to them.

If your walking with your friend's and you see something bad or see something or someone ugly you could say "thats just so flumpy" or maybe even if your mom tell's you to do the dishes you can say "actually mom, thats to flumpy for me". Think about it, you could become famous just because you created a word for your english writing class, how cool would that be?. That would probably never happen but im sure theres a one in a million chance. Using a new word for bad would make life just that much easier to get away with when your talking to people you don't like, if you call them flumpy they would say what does that mean? then you could tell them that it mean's happy or good and you wouldn't get into trouble.

All in all making a new would is really fun and is definatly better than that boring word bad.

Life being invisible sure would be exciting. I could do anything I wanted, I would start by raiding mcdonalds and taking everything I could eat. Then I would go find somebody that I really dont like at all (Justin Beiber) and either punch him or pant's him in a public facility. Another thing I would do is I would fly on a private jet to Hollywood and go to some really rich celebrity's house and use all there really expensive thing's like there cars, theatre room and pool etc. I would probably live there for quite a long time. Being invisible would be hard though, because if you needed to get someones attention they won't know your there but it would get so brutal being invisible like not being able to play hockey or any of the sport's/activities/hobbies you love to play and watch. It would be so much easier not having to pay for any of your entries or flights anywhere or if you wanted to go to an NHL hockey game you could get in free and go to as many as you wanted or to disneyland/disneyworld you could go anytime without having to ever pay. Whatever I felt like eating or doing I could just go get it.I would also go around the school pranking everyone I could find and scaring them with floating books and chairs and them not ever knowing that it was me the entire time, or I would put on a white sheet and jump out and scare teachers and students which would be very exciting. My next thing to do would be to go to England and play around with the queens crown and hide it and see if there would be alot of chaos, that would be fun. But personally I would love to try being invisible for atleast a few days but I love my life and I wouldnt ever want to be invisible for the rest of my life, it would just be to irritating.

What makes me feel powerful

There are many things that make me feel powerful and here are a few of them. It makes me feel powerful when I get lot's of goal's in a hockey game or a really nice goal, or scoring in a really important game and when the crowd starts cheering really loud. It makes me feel powerful when I get a good grade on an assignment, test or report card. It makes me feel powerful when I help other's who are in need. When life throws obstacles at me it makes me feel powerful when I get through them. In hockey when we beat a team that we know is clearly better it makes me feel very powerful. It makes me feel powerfull when my parent's tell me that there proud of me or if I did a good job in something. It makes me feel powerful when I stand up for somebody who's being picked on or tell somebody to stop doing somehting they know they shouldnt be doing. It makes me feel poweful when I win a big race in track and field.


It makes me feel powerless when i get grounded or do something that was either really stupid and mean to a person who didnt deserve to be spoken to that way. It makes me feel powerless when I play a really bad game in hockey. It makes me feel powerless when somebody treat's me badly or somebody sais somehting mean about me that it untrue. It mkae sme feel powerless when my hockey team play's against a team we know we should beat by alot but either barely beat at all or tie or maybe even lose. It makes me feel powerless when I get a bad grade on a test or an assigment it also makes me feel powerless when I get a low grade on my report card in a class I know I know I shouldve done better in. It makes me feel powerless when I cannot beat a video game or lose when I know I can beat it.
